About the role#
This work study position supports the athletics department at Marshalltown Community College. You will help maintain the fitness center and assist students using the facilities. This is a paid, part-time role available for the summer term.
What you'll do#
- Greet students as they arrive and answer phone calls.
- Check identification cards for everyone entering the facility.
- Monitor the fitness, aerobic, and gym spaces to ensure guests follow rules and regulations.
- Perform minor cleaning tasks in these areas during your shift.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment for all users.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility for either Institutional or Federal Work Study.
- Availability to work varied hours, including weekdays and weekends.

- Pay rate: $9.00 per hour.
