About the role#
The Department of Education is hiring a student worker to assist with daily administrative operations. This role supports faculty, staff, and students while ensuring the office runs effectively. You will work closely with the department chair to manage social media and coordinate departmental events. This position is open to students in fields including Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Marketing, and Media Studies.
What you'll do#
- Manage administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and tracking office supplies.
- Provide front desk coverage by answering phones and welcoming visitors.
- Run department social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
- Create and update promotional materials using Canva.
- Maintain the department library and update the website using Drupal.
- Support department events such as the Spring Lecture, workshops, and admissions events.
- Attend weekly meetings with supervisors.
What you'll need#
- At least one year of previous experience as an Office Assistant.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on routine tasks.
- Familiarity with social media account maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and a self-motivated approach to problem solving.
- Comfort interacting with students, faculty, and prospective students.

- Compensation: Paid position at 16.15 per hour.
