About the role#
Ithaca College is hiring a Microbiology Lab TA to support the Microbiology for Health Sciences lecture and laboratory. This position helps students with their coursework and assists with essential laboratory operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with learning during lecture and lab sessions.
- Transport and set up lab equipment.
- Prepare culture media and set up microbial cultures.
- Examine samples using microscopy.
- Manage waste and wash glassware.
- Handle biohazardous materials and disinfect equipment.
What you'll need#
- Ability to safely handle biohazardous materials.
- Eligibility for employment in the United States and completion of I-9 requirements.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Preference for students majoring in Biology, Public Health, Nursing, or Biomedical Sciences.
