About the role#
The Unity Center is looking for a Student Media Assistant to document and promote campus programs and events. You will help ensure students feel represented through visual storytelling and support the center in fostering a sense of belonging. This is a paid, full-time student employment position for the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Attend Unity Center events to capture photos and videos.
- Create social media content, such as reels and short videos.
- Organize digital media files so they remain accessible.
- Work with staff to highlight student experiences and key moments.
- Support the creation of promotional materials and event recaps.
- Attend staff meetings to share ideas for storytelling.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Interest or experience in photography, videography, or content creation.
- Comfort with social media platforms like Instagram.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings or weekends.
- A passion for storytelling and supporting diverse student communities.
- Reliability and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Preferred but not required: experience with editing tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or Lightroom.

- Pay: $16.00 per hour.
