About the role#
As a Special Event Manager, you will work with the Conference and Event Services office to support campus events. You will act as a point of contact for faculty, students, and staff to ensure their event needs are met. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What you'll do#
- Oversee and manage events planned by the Conference and Event Services office.
- Assist with set-up, audio-visual services, and other event-related equipment.
- Resolve on-site logistical issues as they arise.
- Educate others on college policies regarding events and facility use.
- Document and evaluate events to assist full-time staff with future planning.
- Use the 25Live scheduling system to track meeting and event information.
- Attend weekly meetings and training sessions throughout the semester.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Health programs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to solve problems as they occur.
- Experience working with a variety of clients.
- Knowledge of event management logistics.
- Availability to work late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
