About the role#
This internship offers hands-on training for individuals pursuing a career in commercial and industrial electrical systems. You will work alongside experienced electricians to gain practical skills in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting our facilities management teams. This role provides a structured learning path to understand electrical systems, safety protocols, and code compliance in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use testing equipment like multimeters, ammeters, and voltage testers to diagnose electrical issues.
- Assist with inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, lighting, power outlets, and equipment connections.
- Help install and maintain building electrical systems, including lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Attend regular safety training and strictly follow electrical safety protocols and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a program in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- A basic understanding of electrical theory and safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
