About the role#
This is a part-time, year-round student position designed to support our ongoing projects while you complete your degree. You will work alongside our full-time staff to solve real-world problems. This role requires on-site attendance at our offices in Urbandale, Iowa, or Austin, Texas. We do not provide relocation assistance for this position.
What you'll do#
- Create data-driven solutions by using modern analytics, AI, and data science techniques.
- Ingest, clean, and transform both structured and unstructured data for use in models and dashboards.
- Build prototypes, analysis tools, data pipelines, and dynamic visualizations to support decision-making.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of machine learning models, algorithms, and GenAI-enabled workflows.
- Communicate your findings, methodologies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, agronomy, and product management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Agriculture.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Foundational knowledge of statistics and machine learning.
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark.
- Ability to work 16-20 hours weekly during the academic year and 30-40 hours weekly during the summer.
