About the role#
This internship focuses on the design, development, and testing of high-voltage maritime power conversion equipment. You will work under the guidance of senior staff to complete small-scale projects while balancing quality, schedule, and cost requirements. You will also participate in departmental improvement initiatives, such as standardizing circuit model libraries and documenting best practices.
What you'll do#
- Design and test high-voltage electrical hardware.
- Select components and perform PCB design and system-level integration.
- Generate wiring diagrams, tables, models, and schematics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware design issues, including those involving software and mechanical integration.
- Conduct peer reviews of technical documentation like reports, procedures, and simulations.
- Create technical presentations to share your work with stakeholders.
- Perform safety testing and inspections on electrical equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on engineering and non-engineering tasks.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Experience with hardware and component selection.
- Knowledge of PCB design and system-level integration.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical hardware design issues.
- Strong communication skills for working across different disciplines.
