About the role#
As an IT Security Intern, you will work on the assessment of security infrastructure and network design. You will identify risks and vulnerabilities across systems and applications. This role involves developing policies for infrastructure security and providing technical support for security standards. You will also evaluate new products and recommend services to improve network security.
What you'll do#
- Assess security infrastructure and network design.
- Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities in new technology initiatives.
- Oversee the development and operation of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus tools.
- Develop policies and procedures to secure system infrastructure.
- Conduct technical assessments and evaluate engineering initiatives.
- Interact with clients to provide recommendations on information assurance standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology with a focus on networks or communications.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and IPSec.
- Familiarity with security topics such as cryptography, authentication, authorization, access control, and business continuity planning.
