About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work on the development of embedded software for tactical radio equipment. You will collaborate with engineering teams to build and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, while contributing to the design and performance requirements of the system.
What you'll do#
- Apply concepts from computer science, engineering, and mathematics to software development.
- Support every phase of the software development life cycle, from initial requirements analysis to final testing.
- Develop software programs, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools to conduct tests and evaluate operating data.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and fix software defects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language or tool, such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, or Qt.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Northampton, MA.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
- The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
