About the role#
This is a hands-on maintenance internship at Live! by Loews in Arlington. You will help maintain the facilities of a 300-room hotel located in the Arlington Entertainment District. This role is part-time and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Perform general repairs and maintenance across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas.
- Assist senior engineers with complex troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Execute work orders dispatched through digital systems.
- Monitor building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Replace light bulbs and maintain proper lighting throughout the property.
- Support preventive maintenance programs and contribute to sustainability initiatives.
- Stock tools and supplies to support daily operations.
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and provide status updates to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas and follow all safety regulations.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and respond to emergencies as needed.
What you'll need#
- Prior working knowledge of general maintenance.
- Familiarity with basic tools, equipment, electrical systems, and AC pumps.
- English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- A customer-service mindset and hospitality skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and work on ladders.
- Ability to regularly lift, pull, or push 50 plus pounds.
- Completion of at least 5 courses in areas like HVAC, electrical, or controls is preferred.
- Coursework in engineering or maintenance is preferred.
