About the role#
As a Maintenance Intern at Live! by Loews in Arlington, you will support the daily operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This is a hands-on, part-time role where you will help maintain a comfortable environment for our guests and team members. You will work alongside senior engineers to address repairs, respond to service requests, and support our preventive maintenance programs.
What you'll do#
- Perform general repairs and maintenance throughout guest rooms, meeting spaces, public areas, and back of house locations.
- Respond to maintenance requests and execute work orders dispatched via HotSOS.
- Assist senior engineers with troubleshooting and complex technical tasks.
- Monitor building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Replace light bulbs and maintain proper lighting across the property.
- Maintain and stock tools and supplies in designated work areas.
- Support sustainability initiatives and energy monitoring.
- Communicate status updates to supervisors and assist guests with maintenance-related needs.
- Keep work areas clean and organized while following safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Respond to emergencies and attend all mandatory training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Prior working knowledge of general maintenance.
- Familiarity with basic tools, equipment, electrical systems, and A/C pumps.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- A customer-service mindset with strong hospitality skills.
- Preference for candidates who have completed at least 5 courses in areas such as HVAC, Electrical, Indoor Air Quality, or Controls.
- Coursework in engineering or maintenance is preferred.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, work on ladders, bend, lift, and stoop.
- Capacity to regularly lift, pull, or push 50 plus pounds.
