    About the role#

    The Luck Stone Summer Internship is a 9-week program focused on quarry operations. You will gain hands-on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation, plant maintenance, quality control, and sales. This role is designed to build core competencies in safety, equipment operation, and operational planning.

    What you'll do#

    • Complete assigned tasks and projects with attention to detail.
    • Participate in hands-on training for pit and plant activities.
    • Assist with equipment maintenance and repair.
    • Follow quality control procedures and perform lab testing.
    • Support sales and dispatch activities, including weighing and ticketing haul trucks.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Attend daily safety briefings and identify potential hazards.
    • Seek feedback and coaching from team members and supervisors.
    • Prepare and deliver an end-of-summer presentation on your learning outcomes.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an advanced degree or certificate program in a discipline related to the mining industry.
    • A desire to grow your career within the mining field.

    • Location: Ashburn, Virginia.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (June 1, 2027, through the first week of August 2027).
