About the role#
This Disability Operations Co-op position provides an opportunity to work within our Group Benefits team. You will support the claims management process by interacting with plan members, sponsors, medical professionals, and vendors. This role is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the insurance sector while working alongside case managers and disability specialists.
What you'll do#
- Conduct functional telephone interviews with plan members.
- Manage follow-up phone calls and written correspondence with stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and current claim files.
- Assist with the payment of invoices.
- Update banking information for plan members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program such as Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in customer service or administrative roles.
- Foundational knowledge of claims processing and health insurance.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
