About the role#
Mazzetti is offering a Summer 2027 internship for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering. This program bridges the gap between classroom theory and professional practice. You will work alongside engineers and project managers on real-world building projects, gaining hands-on experience in the design of healthcare and science facilities. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with building calculations for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Use industry-standard software to model MEP systems and refine construction drawings.
- Learn company engineering standards, workflows, and quality control processes.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including LEED documentation and energy modeling.
- Participate in project planning meetings and coordinate with various disciplines.
- Join limited site visits or construction observation activities to see designs implemented in the field.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- A desire to apply academic knowledge to consulting work and an interest in professional engineering licensure.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and seek feedback.
- Ability to manage responsibilities and organize your work effectively.
- Familiarity with Revit or similar design software is preferred but not required.
- Coursework related to building systems or energy modeling is a plus.
Location & details#
- Locations: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Portland, OR; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Seattle, WA; St. Louis, MO.
- Modality: This is a hybrid role. You will work from your local office approximately 2-3 days per week.
- Compensation: $23 - $35 per hour, depending on education, experience, and location.
