About the role#
McGill Associates, PA offers an internship for students to apply classroom theory to professional civil engineering projects. You will work alongside Project Engineers to gain practical experience. What you'll do#
- Perform standard engineering tasks and design project work.
- Draft site layouts, grading, earthwork calculations, and utility routing.
- Design storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, and water or wastewater treatment systems.
- Assist with permitting, final documents, and project specifications.
- Help with construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and resolving installation issues.
- Conduct field inspections, testing of utility systems, and site evaluations.
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
- Document design changes and communications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Preference for rising Juniors and Seniors.
- Experience with AutoCAD, with Civil 3D preferred.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
