About the role#
The Architectural Intern role supports the Architecture, Design and Project Management division at New York City Transit. This is a full-time, paid position based in New York. You will assist with field surveys and technical documentation to support station infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform field verification and surveys for station platforms, including ADA compliance checks.
- Create architectural designs and construction drawings for platform remediation.
- Conduct station surveys to maintain data inventory and update existing drawings.
- Measure station dimensions to ensure proper positioning of platform barriers and alignment with subway car doors.
- Inspect station roofs and produce the necessary reports and drawings for construction projects.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture as a first professional degree from an accredited college.
- High proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across several simultaneous projects.
