    About the role#

    MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a Summer Intern to serve as a Teaching Assistant for the Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) Unmanned Aerial Systems Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAS-SAR) course. You will spend six weeks on the MIT campus supporting students and instructors. Outside of the teaching period, you may have the opportunity to work on projects within the Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques group, which focuses on prototyping radar and imaging sensors for wide-area surveillance.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist instructors with the BWSI UAS-SAR course.
    • Guide students through course material, project implementation, and debugging.
    • Work with the course team to enhance existing materials.
    • Analyze radar data and extract insights to improve system performance.
    • Refine your technical and professional communication skills.

    What you'll need#

    • Familiarity with BWSI UAS-SAR course materials, either as a student or assistant within the last five years.
    • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Basic programming skills in Python.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
    • Must be 18 or older by 1 June 2027.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site, full-time internship located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
    • The term is for Summer 2027.
    • This position is paid.
    • U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
    • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level Department of Defense security clearance.
