About the role#
This co-op position is based in the Microelectronics Laboratory. You will work in a wafer fabrication facility to support national security interests. The role requires an on-site presence in Lexington, Massachusetts from January to August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, run, and analyze experiments to create and improve wafer fabrication processes.
- Support the production of superconducting circuits, quantum computing circuits, radiation hardened electronics, rf devices, integrated photonics, and charge coupled imagers.
- Perform tasks related to photolithography, reactive ion etching, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, wafer bonding, wet chemical processing, and ion implantation.
- Undergo a pre-employment background investigation and obtain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate background in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or statistics.
- A willingness to work in a cleanroom environment.
- US citizenship.
- Enthusiasm for solving technical problems and an interest in working on a team.
