About the role#
As a Product Quality Engineering Intern, you will join our global team to support customer expectations and manufacturing excellence for our Land Mobile Radio and Video product lines. You will work on technical challenges across international supply chains and collaborate with engineering teams to improve product quality.
What you'll do#
- Initiate detailed quality plans to set clear project goals and benchmarks.
- Facilitate root-cause investigations using the 8D methodology.
- Manage customer complaints and track trends using JIRA.
- Utilize return data to champion design and manufacturing upgrades.
- Develop and report on product quality KPIs and performance metrics.
- Identify process gaps and drive preventive actions to stop recurring issues.
- Coordinate with global plant teams, Engineering, Technical Support, Service, and Order Management.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with root-cause analysis frameworks like 8D, Lean Six Sigma, or DMAIC.
- Exposure to JIRA and data analysis tools for tracking metrics.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented and proactive approach to process improvement.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The position follows a rolling term structure.
