About the role#
The Discovery Bio-Analytics team supports early-stage screening and lead optimization of therapeutic drug candidates. This internship is part of the Future Talent Program and lasts up to 12 weeks. You will contribute to non-laboratory projects that use data analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling to advance analytical capabilities. This role offers exposure to drug discovery workflows and the chance to build tools that impact research timelines.
What you'll do#
- Support efforts to improve efficiency, speed, and data-driven decision-making within bioanalytical workflows.
- Source historical compound and analytical method data related to chemical properties and liquid chromatography.
- Develop a predictive machine learning model to serve as a recommendation framework.
- Collaborate with bioanalytical scientists to evaluate and validate the predictive accuracy of your model.
- Explore ways to expand the model to address additional method development parameters.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Basic data analysis ability and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with programming tools such as Excel, Python, or R.
- Interest in applied AI/ML, predictive modeling, or data-driven decision-making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within collaborative environments.
- Preferred: Understanding of liquid chromatography principles and analytical methods, plus prior exposure to machine learning workflows, data visualization, or statistical analysis.
