About the role#
The Discovery Oncology team is looking for a student to join our research efforts in Boston. This co-op position offers the chance to work on projects that characterize new therapeutic targets and molecules. You will work alongside a scientific mentor to gain experience in drug discovery within a research and development environment.
What you'll do#
- Design, execute, interpret, and report on in vitro experiments.
- Assist in the development, execution, and troubleshooting of cell-based assays.
- Use techniques including cancer cell line culture, proliferation assays, genomic perturbation, western blotting, RT-qPCR, and flow cytometry.
- Collaborate with functional areas such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and genetics.
- Review and interpret published research to guide your own work.
- Communicate data clearly to team members and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or BA degree program in biological or pharmaceutical sciences.
- Enrollment in a university co-op program.
- Availability to work full-time for up to 6 consecutive months starting in early to mid-2027.
- Prior research experience and a strong interest in oncology drug discovery.
- Experience with basic laboratory procedures like pipetting, solution preparation, and plate-based assays.
- Experience with basic mammalian cell culture.
- Ability to perform accurate data analysis with strong attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
