About the role#
This internship provides a hands-on look at how a television station operates. You will work within the News Department at DC News Now to understand how content, including sports coverage, is developed and shared across digital and linear platforms. This program focuses on providing a meaningful learning experience under the supervision of a manager.
What you'll do#
- Attend newsroom meetings to observe daily operations.
- Support reporters and producers with their daily tasks.
- Assist in transcribing interviews.
- Research stories for both digital and linear platforms.
- Gather video elements to support news and sports content.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication skills.
- A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to handle a variety of assignments and tasks.
- Current enrollment in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration, or Political Science.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: 20 to 30 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.

- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
