About the role#
We are looking for a Database Conversion Programming Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. You will work on data conversion projects to help move Member and customer data onto our platforms.
What you'll do#
- Research, design, and convert data for NISC platforms.
- Fix data issues and suggest improvements to current processes.
- Assist with data analysis and mapping to create conversion strategies.
- Run quality tests, including data validation, verification, and balancing.
- Communicate with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Document work and track progress using our internal issue tracking tool.
- Follow established conversion guidelines and uphold our Shared Values.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Linux and command-line interfaces.
- Understanding of ETL tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of project management concepts and the utility industry.
- Strong research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize tasks, prioritize work, and pay close attention to detail.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
