About the role#
This internship with the Brokerage Division at The David J. Joseph Company offers a look into commodities trading. You will join our team for the summer to gain experience in scrap and steel markets. The role focuses on learning how to analyze market data and apply that knowledge to real-world scenarios.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced analysts to study commodity markets and macroeconomic trends.
- Complete assigned projects, including price or volume forecasting and statistical analysis.
- Participate in group meetings and team tasks.
- Learn to navigate a professional office environment.
- Uphold safety policies and procedures as a primary responsibility.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student majoring in Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of Project R.
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI.

- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) for 8 to 9 weeks.
