About the role#
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our Products and Technology team in Toronto for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship for students enrolled in a recognized co-op program. You will work within an agile team to help deliver high-quality solutions for our pension members.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Execute test cases and document results in a test management tool.
- Identify manual test cases that are good candidates for automation.
- Work with QA Engineers, Developers, and Product Owners.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and team discussions.
- Help configure and manage test data across testing environments.
- Learn and apply Agile testing practices.
- Contribute to test coverage reviews against business requirements and user stories.
- Assist with troubleshooting and debugging test failures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language like Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and an aptitude to think out of the box.
- Good communication skills to share and exchange ideas with your team.
- High integrity and discretion regarding sensitive information.
- An interest in coding and computer programming.
- Exposure to test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright is an asset.
- Experience with Zephyr, JIRA, SQL, CI/CD tools, or API testing tools like Postman is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The work modality is hybrid, requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.
