About the role#
As a Materials Intern, you will support the Materials department by identifying opportunities to improve material flow and reduce total costs. You will work alongside the Materials and Operations teams to develop process improvements and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
What you'll do#
- Compile data from ERP systems and spreadsheets to support the Plan for Every Part process.
- Analyze value streams to reduce excess material handling within facilities and between suppliers.
- Support the implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy.
- Run reports and perform data analytics to optimize material flow and efficiency.
- Assist with continuous improvement events and 5S initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the internship duration.
