About the role#
The Pace Zine Library is looking for two student assistants to help manage daily operations and grow the collection. This position offers hands-on experience for students interested in library science, archives, or marketing. You will work directly with library staff and faculty to maintain the space and promote our materials.
What you'll do#
- Staff the library during regular weekly hours.
- Introduce visitors to the library holdings and features.
- Catalog new materials in a spreadsheet.
- Help develop the collection.
- Promote the library on campus, in the NYC community, and through social media.
- Create research-based Instagram stories, reels, and posts.
- Experiment with content creation for TikTok.
What you'll need#
- Current Work Study eligibility.
- Genuine curiosity about zines and independent, micro, or self-publications.
- Ability to handle delicate materials with care.
- Self-motivation and a desire to collaborate with library staff.
- Excellent, prompt email skills and clear verbal communication.
- Experience with social media storytelling, especially on Instagram.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, or History.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week during the semester and 35 hours per week during breaks. Specific schedules are determined with your supervisor.
