About the role#
Pure Power Engineering is hiring an engineering student for a full-time internship during the summer of 2027. You will work on commercial and utility scale solar PV systems ranging from 100kW to 20MW. The position runs from early June through the end of August.
What you'll do#
- Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems.
- Integrate energy storage systems into solar PV designs.
- Create construction documents using AutoCAD.
- Prepare specifications, gather data, and manage utility interconnection and building permit applications.
- Perform site-specific production analysis for PV arrays using tools like PVsyst.
- Travel to project sites as needed to collect data.
What you'll need#
- A BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience using AutoCAD.
- Previous internship experience at an MEP firm focusing on traditional building design.

- This role is based in Kansas City, KS.
- The work schedule is hybrid, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
