    About the role#

    RBC Bearings is hiring a CAD Designer Intern to work on-site in Simpsonville, South Carolina. This part-time, paid internship focuses on supporting our drafting and design team by converting existing part-drawings into digital models. You will report to the Application Engineering Manager.

    What you'll do#

    • Create new models and drawings of existing parts using SolidWorks.
    • Load revision-controlled files into our data management systems.
    • Interpret technical drawings, casting requirements, and machining specifications.
    • Collaborate with a team of technical professionals while managing your own tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MET, Engineering Graphics, or a related field.
    • Exposure to SolidWorks or AutoCAD software.
    • Familiarity with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Ability to read 2D prints and interpret technical data.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Outlook and Teams.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, reaching, or walking.
