About the role#
Saab is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern for our advanced manufacturing operation in West Lafayette, Indiana. This internship provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects while working with a mentor to develop professional skills. You will work on-site during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Complete a designated project assigned by the department manager that provides value to the operation.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of Quality Management System principles and processes.
- Monitor the assembly cycle and perform regular tests and inspections to identify non-conformances.
- Analyze risk and assist with the development of risk mitigation plans, including root cause analysis.
- Participate in internal audits to ensure process maturity and compliance.
- Partner with team members to learn about quality systems and integrate quality policies into procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- Completion of your freshman year by the start of the internship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Coursework or previous experience with Quality Systems, testing, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Citizenship status as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual.

- Compensation: $21 - $24 per hour, based on experience
