About the role#
This co-op position offers the chance to apply your classroom education to real-world products. You will work within our surveillance software team to support air traffic management systems currently in use at airports. This role is a full-time, paid summer opportunity based on-site in East Syracuse, New York.
What you'll do#
- Write and develop software for air traffic management systems.
- Practice object-oriented design using C++, Python, or Java.
- Work within Linux or Unix development environments.
- Use scripting languages to support development tasks.
- Contribute to projects that help keep society safe.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- United States citizenship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and meet eligibility requirements for government security investigations.
- Familiarity with software design patterns, version control tools like GIT or Subversion, Javascript, HTML, CSS, SQL, or unit test frameworks is a plus.

- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20.27 to $22.30 per hour, plus a sign-on bonus to assist with housing expenses for those commuting from outside the area.
