About the role#
Samtec is looking for an Electrical Engineering student to join the team as a Hardware Design Co-op. In this role, you will work on electronic hardware designs that support our global engineering, marketing, and production teams. You will gain experience across the entire design lifecycle, from initial concepts to final system validation.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Collaborate with Signal Integrity engineers, Layout designers, and Software engineers.
- Brainstorm preliminary concepts with cross-functional teams.
- Document test plans and record test results.
- Oversee the manufacturing and assembly of prototypes.
- Perform system bring-up and testing in the lab.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering program.
- Basic understanding of digital and analog circuits.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Orcad and Allegro.
- Experience with lab test equipment including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages is a plus.

- This position is based on-site in Newark, Delaware.
- This is a paid, full-time co-op role with a rolling term.
