About the role#
Samtec is hiring an Analog RFIC Design Engineering Co-op to join our team in Chandler. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test Microwave, RF, and Mixed-signal circuit blocks. This role involves using SiGe and RF-CMOS semiconductor processes to create custom RFICs. You will gain hands-on experience with the full design cycle, from initial concept to lab validation.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, and lay out Analog and RF Integrated Circuit blocks.
- Conduct feasibility studies at the transistor level.
- Learn to use the Cadence Virtuoso suite for schematics, symbols, and layouts.
- Analyze power consumption, component stress, and worst case performance.
- Measure design parameters of fabricated ICs in the lab.
- Participate in design reviews and define bench bring-up and test plans.
- Provide engineering support to Production and Applications Engineering teams.
- Give technical presentations on your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Program.
- Interest in transistor level, analog circuit design.
- Coursework in Analog IC design, RF and Microwave circuit design, Semiconductors, and Electromagnetism.
- Familiarity with lab tools such as soldering irons, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Location & details#
- Location: Chandler, Arizona.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility between 8 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Eligible for tuition assistance and the 401k plan.
