About the role#
This is a ten-week summer internship within the Cybersecurity group at Schonfeld. You will work directly with cybersecurity professionals on projects that address current security threats. The program includes support from a dedicated manager and mentor, team-building events, and networking opportunities with senior leadership. You will conclude the internship by presenting your project work to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist with incident response and prepare for potential security events.
- Review security alerts in partnership with vendors.
- Identify previously undetected attacks through threat hunting.
- Analyze and incorporate intelligence into detection and monitoring workflows.
- Validate vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Assess the risk of changes to IT and security systems.
- Develop and enhance security detection rules and response runbooks.
- Use automation and scripting to improve security delivery.
What you'll need#
- Junior status pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Technology Risk.
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through internships, part-time jobs, extracurricular activities, or coursework.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems quickly.
