About the role#
Schonfeld is looking for a Data Science Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on creating proprietary datasets, conducting research, and supporting our investment strategies. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in New York.
What you'll do#
- Optimize data ingestion pipelines to ensure high-quality inputs.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to extract insights and generate signals for alpha generation.
- Produce curated datasets to standardize research across the firm.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and validate hypotheses through backtesting.
- Develop expertise across various financial asset classes.
What you'll need#
- A degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, data science, computer engineering, or finance.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, or other programming languages.
- Proficiency with statistical and machine learning packages.
- Experience researching and analyzing financial datasets.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Bonus points for knowledge of deep learning, AI tools, or experience with Spark, Kafka, Docker, and Airflow.
