About the role#
As a Corporate Health & Safety Student, you will support key initiatives that strengthen the Health, Safety & Environment Management System and the Emergency Management Program. You will work alongside the Corporate Health & Safety team to contribute to projects focused on continuous improvement, document management, emergency preparedness, and compliance. This position offers hands-on experience supporting a national organization.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and improvement of the Health, Safety & Environment Management System.
- Assist with updates to Emergency Management documentation and help plan emergency exercises.
- Manage HSEMS documentation, including template standardization and process improvements.
- Coordinate Health & Safety initiatives and review committee activities.
- Develop and communicate Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Support external audits and track follow-up action items.
- Compile and analyze Health & Safety statistics and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet corporate Health & Safety objectives.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a diploma or undergraduate degree program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Intent to return to full-time studies following the work term.
- Studies in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Commerce, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically strong Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
