About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12 week program. You will gain hands-on experience in retail store operations, sales, and management. The program includes traveling with a Sales Representative to learn about outside sales and working with store leadership to complete a project that addresses a real business challenge. This internship is open to current college students interested in a career in sales and business management.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to meet customer needs.
- Support sales goals and contribute to a welcoming store environment.
- Develop a strong understanding of merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, manage inventory, and assist with visual merchandising.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, mix paint products, and perform general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and support efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow safety, HR, and loss prevention policies.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve customer concerns.
- Work with fellow interns on a team-based project to address a store initiative.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in retail, delivery, or customer service.
- Experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Internal applicants must have a meets expectations rating on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
