About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to outside sales by traveling with a Sales Representative and working closely with your management team. Interns also complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative. This program is designed for current college students interested in business administration, marketing, or operations management.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training sessions and follow store policies, including safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention protocols.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project that addresses a business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service role.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish is preferred.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Internal candidates must have a “meets expectations” rating on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
