About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12 week program. It offers hands-on experience in our retail stores to provide insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain experience in business-to-business and retail environments. The program includes time traveling with a Sales Representative and working with store management. You will also collaborate with peers on a project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, manage inventory, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies regarding safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a team-based project.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of the internship.
- Must be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a meets expectations rating on your most recent performance appraisal and completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
