About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12 week program. It offers hands-on experience in retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with store management. You will also collaborate with peers on a project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product preparation and mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Restock shelves and support inventory management and visual merchandising.
- Help with unloading deliveries and organizing stockrooms.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies regarding safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate on a team-based project and present outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- Internal candidates must have a meets expectations rating or higher on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
