About the role#
This internship offers a chance to participate in daily newsroom operations at WCHS. You will work within a broadcast media environment to support the production of stories for both television and digital platforms. This position is based in Charleston, West Virginia, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Research, write, and produce news content for broadcast and digital outlets.
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, photographers, and producers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Pitch original story ideas to help shape local coverage.
- Learn to shoot video and capture visuals for news segments.
- Observe control room operations and the execution of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or are a recent graduate.
- You have achieved at least sophomore standing at an accredited college or university.
- You are eligible to work in the United States.
- You have reliable transportation.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Political Science, English, or Business Administration.
