About the role#
Southwest Power Pool is seeking an IT intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Corporate Applications team as a programmer and developer. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining custom front-end and back-end applications. You will help optimize internal operations and support critical tasks related to compliance, data transfer, and physical security. This is a full-time, paid position that provides exposure to the daily operations of a major energy organization.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications.
- Complete assignments supporting stakeholder committees, settlements, data services, reliability systems, market services, and IT support.
- Provide technical support to help project groups meet critical deadlines.
- Deliver a final presentation to showcase your work and the knowledge you gained during the program.
What you'll need#
- You are a college student entering your senior year.
- You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- You hold a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- You have an interest in programming, software development, and IT systems.
- You have an expressed desire to work in the power industry.

- Location: Little Rock, Arkansas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Modality: On-site and hybrid.
