About the role#
As a Student, Security Platform Specialist, you will support the operational services that align with our security technology. You will join a team focused on maintaining the Cyber Security program and improving internal processes. Your work ensures that our security portfolio runs smoothly in the production environment. You will handle ticket management, support security tool operations, and contribute to project transitions.
What you'll do#
- Monitor Cyber Security capabilities and protection mechanisms to ensure they function correctly.
- Manage the ticket queue, including intake, triage, and initial problem support.
- Create and update cyber security playbooks, policies, and knowledge base articles.
- Develop RACI documents and train teams on day-to-day operational tasks.
- Act as a subject matter expert for various security technologies.
- Collaborate with security platform, operations, and investigation teams.
- Communicate operational status, issues, and escalations.
- Verify that security controls are in place to address cyber risks.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology degree or diploma program.
- Expected graduation date of April 2027 or later.
- Prior experience in the IT industry or cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with security tools and Cyber Security frameworks like NIST or MITRE.
- Strong technical aptitude in areas such as endpoint, cloud, email, or perimeter security.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a team.
- A professional IT security designation, such as CISM, CISSP, or CISA, is an asset.
- Previous work experience in the financial industry is preferred.
- Ability to obtain Reliability Status Clearance is a requirement to start this role.
