About the role#
Tallgrass is looking for a Fundamentals Analyst Intern to join the team for Summer 2027. This role is for a curious student who wants to apply economic thinking to real energy markets. You will work alongside analysts to understand the drivers of regional natural gas markets, improve data management, and help turn analysis into clear reporting.
What you'll do#
- Track and analyze the supply, demand, storage, and flow dynamics in regional natural gas markets.
- Apply economic reasoning to explain price movements and shifts in market balance.
- Build and maintain clean, well-structured datasets and identify inefficiencies in data collection.
- Contribute to recurring and ad-hoc reports for internal and external audiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Business, or Computer Science.
- A solid grasp of core economic concepts such as supply and demand, price signals, and market equilibrium.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- A willingness to dig into the data to understand the drivers behind the numbers.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Lakewood, Colorado.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- The internship runs for 10 weeks from May through August 2027.
- Compensation ranges from $24.81 to $37.09 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
