    About the role#

    This is a paid co-op opportunity for the Winter 2027 term with the AES Ohio Substation Engineering team. You will gain practical experience in the design of electrical substations while working on-site in Dayton, Ohio.

    What you'll do#

    • Work alongside staff engineers to help design parts of 12kV through 345kV substations.
    • Create physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    • Assist in producing detailed engineering design packages that follow AES Ohio and industry standards such as IEEE and NERC.
    • Complete additional assignments as determined by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Academic standing of Sophomore or higher is preferred.
    • A strong academic background, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred.
