About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the store management team to learn the mechanics of the retail business. Your primary goal is to provide a positive shopping experience for guests while developing your leadership and merchandising skills. This is an on-site, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking your own results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, processing freight, and maintaining store displays.
- Complete core sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker to monitor progress in specific departments like denim, accessories, or footwear.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to your Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- You have the physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- You are interested in a long-term commitment with the company.
- You are comfortable working a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
