About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business operates. You will gain hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and store operations while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our guests. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) procedures.
- Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is displayed appropriately.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned projects to build your leadership and merchandising skills.
- Assist with daily store tasks such as cashiering, merchandise displays, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is necessary for this position.
