About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the retail business and develop your management skills. The role focuses on creating a positive shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and store operations. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and store maintenance.
- Complete core sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and prepare deposits.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university, specifically in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
