About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works directly with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business operates. You will gain hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and sales while completing segments of the Buckle Management Manual. This role involves managing a specific product category, setting sales goals, and tracking results to develop your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Maintain and build good Guest relationships to support a client-based business.
- Demonstrate product knowledge to help Guests find items that meet their needs.
- Watch for and recognize security risks or theft and handle these situations appropriately.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) procedures, including cash handling and balancing drawers.
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as handling freight, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of current sales and promotions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
